March 2022

April 3, 2022 This week I've had a sore throat and a combination of some kind of sickness plus allergies. Things seem to be on the mend though. On Friday I had the day off and we used that time to put some gravel rock down around the garden boxes. It was a big job! But we got it done and it feels good to have that all wrapped up. Greyson enjoyed climbing on the pile of rocks and only hurt himself once. Hinckley upon seeing the rock put down said, "This is prime!" and he immediately went over to the area we agreed not to fill in with rock so he could keep digging his big pit. Before  After This week there was a lot of playing outside. The kids had fun doing chalk, digging holes, and "sunbathing" with dollies, Now that it is nicer and lighter in the evening it is amazing to let them just go out of the house and do stuff like that. Also this week Kassie opened up some boxes of Hinckley's old clothes for Greyson and he was in heaven. I've never seen a kid so...

February 2022

February 27, 2022 2/22/2022 was a memorable day. We said goodbye to Grandpa Halvorsen and took the time to reflect and share memories with our family. In the morning there was a blanket of snow over everything and a beautiful sunrise that hit Timp just right as we sat in the Mortuary home and it was wonderful. Greyson struggled a few times throughout all the services, but overall it was better than it could have been. At the viewing, it was a great opportunity to teach the kids (and Addie who was asking, “why does he look like a statue”?) about death and the separation of the body and the spirit. Hinckley did a good job being quiet and listening to the stories throughout all the services which was really good. We had a police escort across Provo which was pretty cool. At the cemetery, we participated in watching the military salute and there was a plane flyover which took my breath away as it wiggled its wings. It was a very memorable day. Arriving at the funeral services At the cemeta...

January 2022

January 30, 2022 We had a fun birthday week for Greyson this week. Hard to believe the baby is 4 years old! He was beyond excited. We had cinnamon rolls and orange juice for breakfast. While everyone was at school and work he and Kassie went to Coconut Cove (indoor play place) and he got all red-cheeked and winded running around there and “making friends”. He was overjoyed at the balloons they picked up including a huge funny fish guy, and also he got some chocolate kisses (he had requested millions to fill up the whole house). For dinner, we had hot dogs and fries which he ended up not eating but others enjoyed. Nana and Grandpa came over and we had cake and presents. He was ecstatic about it all. When we went up to his room to get PJs on he became more solemn and pronounced, “I’m sad it is the end of my birthday”. But he perked up when I reminded him he could play with his new Perplexus and other toys tomorrow. Addie was very happy and a little jealous after giving him her present. H...
