In writing my mid-term for my film class on Musicals, I came across this scene from "Across the Universe." While I don't feel like recommending the whole film to you - I do suggest checking out some of the different musical numbers on youtube or listening to the soundtrack. It is amazing! We are writing and discussing a lot the dual nature of the Musical in placing the ideal with reality through the medium of style. The music really has a way of bridging this gap.
