Halloween, Thanksgiving, and More

Happy December! Hinckley still can't sing, but is is awfully close. We were on a roll this year, blogging once and sometimes twice a month for the first part of the year. And then we had a second child, and I (Greg) started fall semester, and the blog went silent. So, here is quick review of the last couple months. Two munchkins all buckled up Pumpkin patch Dino at the church Halloween Party In early October Kassie's mother came to visit. We enjoyed going to the pumpkin patch and Hinckley had loads of fun playing in the corn kernels. Kas and I finally went and saw Inside Out which we really loved. Grandpa Halverson had his 95th birthday! What a great man. Hinckley and I got to meet President Uchtorf (one of the leaders of the LDS church) when we went up to see Grandpa walk in a Christmas parade and speak at the This Is The Place  monument village.  Addie with Grandpa H Little bear and her Mom Halloween was a blast, something about having y

Closing Out the Summer

Finally getting this out! I thought having one child complicated life, but turns out 2 kids does even more. Last temple trip before Addie's arrival Picking berries with Grandma B and Aunt Sam Addie continues to grow and it is hard to believe she is approaching 2 months old! Amazing how quickly the little ones grow out of their newborn clothes. We've had Hinckley's last night in the crib as we transition him to the twin. We erected his bed guard and braced ourselves for the fact that he may not sleep much due to excitement/fear/something else. We are constantly reminded how short time is with this spirits God has entrusted us with, and have set some goals to try and treasure it more and not take ourselves so seriously.  H's nightly antics in his "big boy bed" Two "swallowed" (swaddled) babies Babies cont.  I am happy to be in one of Dad's classes again (Qualitative Research 2) and am also taking an advanced design

Adelaide's Birth Story

We had a baby! Adelaide was born Sunday, August 9th at 6:39 a.m. She was--and is a sweet little doll: 6 pounds 6 oz and 19 inches long. On Friday morning I had an appointment with my midwife and she did a membrane sweep. According to various research I did, I knew that if that was going to help labor along it would work within 48 hours. Nothing happened on Friday. On Saturday morning, however, I was feeling kind of sick to my stomach and it didn't go away no matter what I did. Around 6 pm, I felt like there was actually a rhythm to it and I felt like I might actually be having contractions. I started thinking of all the things we needed to do. Around 8 pm I started timing my contractions because I like to measure things like that. The contractions were about 4-5 minutes apart and lasting 45 seconds to a minute and a half long. I spent the evening rushing around, getting things ready. I packed my hospital bag “just in case,” made sure things were mostly clean and organi

Birthday, Cousins, and Independence

Hinckley LOVES the splash pad, even when he gets hurt (see documentation above). With the hot months in full bloom we have found a few activities that are fun to do. July brought more than just heat though, cousins, birthdays, and a whole lot of sugar have made this month a very fun one. Hopefully we can begin recovering soon.  Hinckley's first Popsicle . . . he actually didn't like it Hanging out with Grandpas Williams I (Greg) went on a trip to Philly for a conference and had a good time learning about media literacy. There I presented on my long standing idea (teachersclips.weebly.com) for teachers to crowdsource popular culture content, and I learned about some really neat thing others are doing to promote similar activities across the world. I also tried out couch surfing (couchsurfing.com) and met some amazing people who showed me a thing or two in Philly I would have missed. One of the awkward selfies born during G's visit to Philly We had all
