November 2021

November 28, 2021 We’ve had a good Thanksgiving break. The kids have played pretty well with one another and we had a fun Thanksgiving day with Mom and Dad at 1220. They had Dimitri over, a man they have taught the gospel too and he had lots to share that seemed to interest Hinckley. We played fruit basket turnover which everyone enjoyed and then after pie with more visiting missionaries we went and saw Encanto at the Scera which we all really enjoyed. There is much to be grateful for. Ready to watch Encanto Pie time Thanksgiving feast with Nana & Grandpa, Dimitri, and Grandpa H Gingerbread houses with Nana Hyrule castle made from blocks The new beloved: Squish Punk Addie and I went and got COVID shots this week, her first and my booster. That was rough, but we got through it. Hinckley got his first this week too. We've set up Christmas decorations and everyone was really hyped up. But Greyson began acting really tired and it turns out he had a fever. So instead of going to Thi

October 2021

October 31, 2021 It was a full week of costumes and candy. At school, the kids had PJ day, parties, and a crazy hair day across the week. On Crazy Hair Day, Addie had a green braid with a Mermaid sticking out of the top which she thought was just the best. Hinckley had a bunch of little ponytails across his head and colored green. Greyson had his PreK Halloween party which he loved, and Kassie went in for the last hour to help with it and said he did really great and was super happy. We went to the Weave (my work) Trunk or Treat which the kids really enjoyed. One group was handing out McDonald’s cheeseburgers and the kids loaded up on a lot of candy. Hinckley has decided not to sacrifice to the Great Pumpkin this year. I don’t know if he’ll ever turn back. Addie quickly followed his example...and almost immediately they both expressed regret. September 2021

September 31 After a remarkable weak at sea, Kassie and I returned to reality on Friday evening and reunited with the kids. They had a pretty good time with Kassie's parents as far as we could tell and had successfully done all their various activities and scheduled events while we were away. For our part, we had a very enjoyable time. We left Seattle last Friday on the Ovation of the Seas, a ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet. It took us to 3 stops in Alaska including Juneau, Skagway, and Sitka, and then on the way home took us by the Endicott Glacier. Everything was glorious! No rain at any of the stops, including leaving and returning to Seattle. We had amazing food (my favorite part), saw a very rare site of whales using the "bubble netting" technique (group hunting) to gather herring fish, did some fun dance classes together, played pickleball, and much much more. It was pretty epic! Pre-cruise remote COVID testing adventure Arriving super early at the ship in Seattle
