Week 11:Blossoms are Here

This was a grand week and though there was some early fog (see pic below) we have had some amazing sites of the beautiful blossoms here in the nation's capital.
We enjoyed some time at a view films for the Environmental Film Festival that comes to DC each year and feel we need to treat the resources God has given us with a little better attention.
We also went to Mt. Vernon and felt pretty inspired by George Washington and his amazing life and accomplishments. This is a shot of the kitchen area - the mansion is just off to the left of this picture.
The blossoms are amazing. This shot is near Georgetown and I hope you can feel a small sense of the awe I have every time I see one of these trees.
Next week is Philadelphia! That should be lots of fun.

    Love the Mt. Vernon shot. I LOVED it there when I went. I would love to see all your pics sometime of that adventure. You have a gift Grey. :-)

    G, I seriously want to print off thart picture of the blossoms with the blue house in the background. They are all so beautiful!

It is that time of day when the house is quiet, the table is half covered in pots, pans, and tuber ware with food scattered across. The car isn’t in the garage and the dog lies sleeping on the blue blanket. The sun lies somewhere back there, behind the cloud over those mountains. It makes some nice gold colors on the rocky face of the mountains outside of the window. September 2026

October 4, 2026 This last week was a full one and was quite eventful. Monday Desi cut his chin open again at daycare, I accidentally drugged addie with the "drowsy" allergy medicine instead of the other one so she needed to come home early from school and slept for 5 hours, and Greyson was sick in the morning but good enough for me to take him to school before lunch time. Tuesday, I had a wonderful hike with Hinckley in which we summitted Mt Nebo in less than 5 hours. It was a stunning day and the colors were out and we had just perfect weather. Thursday Addie and I got to go to a Daddy/Daughter dance our elders quorum put on at the church and it was amazing! We had a lot of fun dancing and grooving to the tunes and enjoyed the treats as well. Friday Hinckley had a swim meet in Provo and beat all his times by at least 2 seconds, and also got a state qualifying time - not bad for the first meet of the season! Almost There!

Tomorrow is our baby's due date! We don't think he will come tomorrow, but one never knows. Here are some pics from this week. School is going pretty well for me, though I transition to writing/reading from doing math for the past two weeks so I am a little nervous about that. The view from the bus just before I get off and start teaching for the day. Usually I am barely awake at this point.  Awesome panorama of our classroom. It has taken a lot of work to get all this stuff up, but it could still use lots more!
